Patagonien Quartett in Vienna

We are excited to present a SIMUC-Concert of Patagonien Quartett at the great Borromäus Saal in Vienna. The ensemble is formed by four Chilean musicians living in Austria, and has been performing for over ten years. In line with SIMUC's endeavors, Chilean music is a primary highlight of the program, including pieces by Antonio Restucci, José Zapiola, Luis Advis, Víctor Jara, Claudio Acevedo, Javier Party and others. With a distinctive combination of instruments: violin, cello, double bass and guitar, Patagonien Quartett has successfully performed throughout Austria, Chile, and Italy, where they won the first prize in a music competition. This concert is a musical commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the coup d'état that occurred in Chile in 1973. We thank the Chilean embassy in Austria and the DIRAC for their support.
